John Levi Cyrus, son of Christian and Matilda Gull, who's father Rev War Soldier Christopher Burket, wife Mary Ann Ross. Israel was her great great grandfather.
In the earliest generations I often found the name spelled: BURGET. The next generation spelled it: _____ than it seemed to pick up an extra T, for some, in later generations.

This land bordered Peter Rhoads, Francis Suhre and other's in Allegheny Twp, Somerset Co., PA. So Christian and his first wife and 4 kids PROBABLY lived in Shade Twp. More research needed.

I called the appropriate departments but they said that game land #228 was made up various land acquistions and that I would need to reach another department to see if they could answer my question. Which Burket was it that owned the land which is now part of the game land? Ms. Landis told me this when I was visiting her and she said she just couldn't remember what Burket it was.
